Steve D Great cast and not much else. Rated 2/5 Stars • Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/29/24 Full Review Audience Member I like this movie actually when there is Jared Leto :) Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Okay, I saw this under the title of SUMMER FLING...and honestly, neither title make any sense. Yeah, it takes place over a summer, but there is no fling and I have no idea what the Last of the High Kings means either. And mild spoiler here, despite being on the cover of both versions, and totally miss-spelled on this one, Christina Ricci is barely in this film. She doesn't show up until a good half hour into the film, and she leaves maybe 15 minutes later.Leto is okay, but his accent is crazy sounding on him. And O'Hara just plays an over the top crack pot.For your sexy part, you get best friends Emily Mortimer and Lorraine Pilkington, both of which who Leto pines for. Not really clear on what if anything happens between them all sadly.I don't know, the film just isn't very fun to watch. Leto is counting down the weeks until he gets his test results to see if he can go on to college or not. He seems to totally ignore Ricci throwing herself at him, and he really only has a fling for like two minutes of the summer.Just not a very interesting film, despite a good cast. Rated 2.5/5 Stars • Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Alright movie, about a dysfunctional family & a young man who looses his virginity Rated 2.5/5 Stars • Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member ★★1/2 (out of four)Based on the novel "The Last of the High Kings" by Ferdia Mac Anna, the film is nicely done, but lacks a clear identity. It offers some nice performances, but never really catches enough fire to sustain it.Set in Dublin, the year is 1977 and Elvis Presley has just died. 17 year old Frankie, played by Jared Leto, is this mourning the death of his idol and the fact that he is still a virgin. He decides to throw a huge end of summer party. He especially invites the two girls he hopes will end his innocence. The script was co-written by Gabriel Byrne and it does give some fun moments, but just not enough. Leto and Chrsitina Ricci do a fine joba dn catherine O'Hara is a standout, however. It's U.S. release was renamed "Summer Fling". Rated 2.5/5 Stars • Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Me atrae mucho pero no logro pillarla en esto del internet.
