Minion CakeDirections

Step 1: Bake cake as directed on package and cool completely.

Step 2: Crumble cake into a large bowl.

Step 3: Using the back of a large spoon, mix cake crumbs with about ⅔ of the can of frosting. You won’t need the rest.

Step 4: Roll mixture into quarter size cake balls and place on a wax paper covered baking sheet.

Step 5: Re-shape balls into smoothcylindersfor Minion shapes. Use wax paper to help make the shapes.

Step 6: Place shaped balls in the freezer for around 15 minutes to firm up. Then transfer them to therefrigeratorto keep chilled and avoid freezing.

Step 7: Melt yellow candy coating in a heat-proof plastic bowl so that the coating is about three inches deep for easier dipping. Melt in the microwave in 30 second intervals on low, and stir in between. Repeat until melted and smooth.

Step 8: Dip the tip of alollipopstick into the melted coating and insert into the cake ball.

Step 9: Dip in yellow coating and remove in one motion without stirring the pop. Note: If your coating is too thick, you can add a little coconut oil to make it easier to work with.

Step 10: Gently tap and twirl off excess.

1.If using a cake ball pan skip the frosting. There is no need to crumble and add it in. I

nstead heavily oil your cake pop pan with coconut oil and flour before adding in the cake mix.

Also let the pan cool completely (stick it in the freezer for 15 minutes) before trying to separate the containers to pull the cake pops out.

Minion Cake Pop Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 Box of Cake Mix (made as directed)
  • 1 Can of Vanilla Frosting
  • 1 Package of Wiltons Yellow Candy Melts
  • 1 Package of Wilton's Candy Eyes Large
  • 1 Black Gel Frosting Pen
  • 1 Blue Cookie Frosting Pack

Instructions

  1. Bake cake as directed on package and cool completely.
  2. Crumble cake into a large bowl.
  3. Using the back of a large spoon, mix cake crumbs with about 2/3 of the can of frosting. You won’t need the rest.
  4. Roll mixture into quarter size cake balls and place on a wax paper covered baking sheet.
  5. Re-shape balls into smooth cylinders for Minion shapes. Use wax paper to help make the shapes.
  6. Place shaped balls in the freezer for around 15 minutes to firm up. Then transfer them to the refrigerator to keep chilled and avoid freezing.
  7. Melt yellow candy coating in a heat-proof plastic bowl so that the coating is about three inches deep for easier dipping. Melt in the microwave in 30 second intervals on low, and stir in between. Repeat until melted and smooth.
  8. Dip the tip of a lollipop stick into the melted coating and insert into the cake ball.
  9. Dip in yellow coating and remove in one motion without stirring the pop. Note: If your coating is too thick, you can add a little coconut oil to make it easier to work with.
  10. Gently tap and twirl off excess.
  11. Before the coating dries, attach a candy eye on front.
  12. For the googles use a black gel frosting and draw them on. A licorice rope will also work.
  13. Using the Blue Frosting gently squeeze onto your minion while twisting.
  14. Set in the refrigerator for 20 minutes to set.
  15. Serve and Enjoy!
