1.When Nothing Goes, Right Go Left Typography Poster

Creator: Giuseppe Fierro

Type:Black & WhiteTypography Poster Inspiration

Selected Because:I’m a complete sucker for such catchy poster ideas. The use of negative space here really makes the text and arrow pop. I feel such minimalistic poster designs are the ones that have the most impact on the audience.

If you look at the text from left to right, the text skews upwards forming the direction of “right”, but with the last two words, the alignment is to the left. Even the arrow at the very bottom is pointing to the left, adding more emphasis to the last part of the phrase. At first glance, it seems like a simple typography poster, when really, there is actually great thought behind it to get the message across.

2. SimpleOrange Motivational Poster

Creator:Venngage

Type:SimpleTypography Poster Inspiration

Selected Because:The color overlay in this typography poster creates depth in the background, sucking the user in, but with the effective use of font weight it actually ends up pulls the reader out instead. With the change in font size and weight in between the heading and the body, it produces a sense of hierarchy to lead the eye. This typography poster idea is an example of how font style can affect readability and legibility of text against a detailed background.

Fonts can provoke emotions, but in this case, it’s used to balance out the emotion coming from the background image. Adventure is felt through the background, and the bold typography inspires motivation to take action. Typography can really make or break the effectiveness of a poster, use it wisely and ensure it reflects the message behind your poster idea.

3.Learning from Japan Typography Poster

Creator:Studio Claus Due

Type:MinimalistTypography Poster Inspiration

Selected Because:The font style you select for your typography poster inspiration really depends on the type of information you’re trying to get across. For example, the typography poster above has a playful yet minimalistic feel with the font style and colors used. The boldness of Japan is so strong, that even when it’s mixed into a busy illustration, it’s still the dominant feature. The size of the text really helps make it more legible, even from a distance.

In a way, the use of bold colors and white space reminds me of the Japanese flag, even though the colors are different. Great sense of balance also adds to this feeling as well, the text is centered vertically and horizontally, as is the illustration. This typography poster template demonstrates how a minimalistic design can still be powerful, even against a vibrant background.

4. Go Play Outside Typography Poster

8+ Typography Poster Inspiration Examples & Templates - Daily Design Inspiration #9 | Venngage (8)

Creator: Kim Knoll

Type:MinimalistTypography Poster Inspiration

Selected Because:It’s very neat how this designer; Kim Knoll, has used the colors in reverse for each group of text. Playing outside can be associated with a range of colors, while a TV can be associated with black and white, and here it’s the opposite. However, it shows how a font can balance this out; the handwritten font of go play outside is laid back and playful, while the turn off the TV seems structured but is also artistic, as would be seen on TV.

The typography poster idea above shows how you can catch attention by simply using everyday ideas in reverse. Trigger your audience to think outside of the box in order to interpret your typography poster design and they will be tuned in for a longer time, but remember don’t make it complex!

5. Let’s Find A Place To Get LostHand Drawn Poster

Type:Hand DrawnTypography Poster Inspiration

Selected Because:This hand-drawn typography poster really gives me a cozy feeling, transporting me over to the winter time, and possibly even Christmas! The use of cool colors on the majority of the text and hand-drawn mountains with snow and stars provides a festival feel. Let’s not forget the minimal use of red and white, which makes me crave a candy cane!

There are lots going on in this poster inspiration, but really everything fits perfectly together, no element is overpowering another. With such a busy background, the designer has used a great way to show how important it is to use strong Typography to ensure the text doesn’t get drowned out. The style of the text, the size, and the colors, each goes hand in hand with the theme of the typography poster inspiration.

6. You Must Be The Change Poster

Creator: Fatih Hardal

Type: Artistic Typography Poster Inspiration

Selected Because:The play button all over the typography poster design above inspires you to get up and act on making a change. The play button, in general, initiates the start of something, and it’s a great way to use it here, as it fits right in with the motivational text!

You Must Be the Change You Wish to See in the World is represented extremely well in this motivational poster idea! With the play sign all over the background, it creates a busy look, causing the user to look through and focus a little harder on the words. In a way, it shows the reader they will see what they want to focus on, in the world and in this typography poster example.

Amazing how a play in words can inspire change right?

7. Colorful HUE Typography Poster

8+ Typography Poster Inspiration Examples & Templates - Daily Design Inspiration #9 | Venngage (13)

Creator:HUE

Type:SimpleTypography Poster Inspiration

Selected Because:Looking at this colorful typography poster it tricks my eyes into thinking the word is moving or that my vision is blurry with a bit of vibration. Using this color palette against a plain black background really maximizes the impact on the eye. The large sans-serif font creates a bold, assertive look with a sense of hierarchy which directs the eye on where to go next. The text that follows uses a smaller font size, not only to make the audience come closer for a longer look but to help make the title pop.

The typography poster inspiration above is a great way to add volume to a flat design. Doing so not only draws the reader in but also creates a long-lasting impression at a later time.

8.Work Less, Do Mooooooooore Poster

8+ Typography Poster Inspiration Examples & Templates - Daily Design Inspiration #9 | Venngage (14)

Creator: Rika Guite

Type:ColorfulTypography Poster Inspiration

Selected Because:Looking at this typography inspiration poster, as soon as I got to the O’s with the checkmarks, it automatically brought a huge smile to my face. Did the colors of the checkmarks trigger this behavior or was it the awesome feeling of having your checklist completed when you get your work done? No one will know, but it definitely inspired me to find ways to get my work done faster and in an efficient manner.

The main element in this poster template is the effective use of typography! The use of tracking across for each word really helped create a central balance for the page. Yes, the word “more” is misspelled, but in this case, it doesn’t really matter, it fulfills the intent of this poster message! Use the typography poster idea above as inspiration not only for yourself but to spark it in others!
